Find Your Table

How it works

How guests find their table with a QR code

Guests scan one QR code with their phone camera, type part of their name and see their table. There is no app to install and no account to create, for guests or for you.

What the guest does

  1. Scan the code

The guest points their phone camera at the QR code on your sign. A web page opens in their browser.

  2. Type part of their name

They type at least 2 characters of their first or last name. Nothing is shown before that.

  3. Read their table

Up to 6 matching names appear, each with the table name or number you gave that guest. If there are more matches, typing a few more letters narrows the list.

How the name search behaves

  • It searches the full name for the letters typed, anywhere in it: "pri" finds Priya, and so does "nair".
  • Capital letters do not matter.
  • It needs 2 characters before it shows anything, and shows at most 6 names at a time, so nobody can scroll through the whole guest list.
  • Accents count as different letters, so enter names the way your guests spell them.
  • Only a published event can be searched. You can unpublish it from your dashboard at any time.

What stays private

The guest page shows matching guest names and their tables, plus the event details you choose to show. Groups, dietary needs, your private notes and check-in status are never on the guest page. They stay in your dashboard, visible only to you and the people you give access to.

What you do as the host

  1. Create your event

Sign in with a code sent to your email and name your event.

  2. Add your guests

Type them in one by one or import a CSV file, and give each guest a table name or number.

  3. Download your QR code

PNG or SVG, on every plan. Put it on a sign, the welcome board, place cards or a screen.

  4. Keep editing

Change tables whenever you need to. The code and link stay the same.

Placing the sign

  • Put the code where guests arrive, such as the entrance or the welcome table, before they look for a seat.
  • Use a size and contrast that scan easily from where guests will stand, and test the printed sign with more than one phone.
  • One sign is enough for a small event. For a large room, a second sign at another entrance spreads people out.
  • Add a short line such as "Scan to find your table" so guests know what the code is for.

Guests without a smartphone

Most guests only need a phone camera and a mobile connection. The page is light and works on mobile data where there is no venue Wi-Fi. For anyone who would rather not use a phone, a friend or a helper at the welcome table can search for them, and a short printed list is always a sensible backup.

Questions

Do guests need to download an app?+

No. The QR code opens a web page in the phone's browser. There is nothing to install and no account to create.

Can a guest see the whole guest list?+

No. The page shows nothing until 2 characters are typed, and then at most 6 matching names with their tables.

What languages is the guest page in?+

The guest page is shown in your event's language: English, French or German, on every plan. The Premium plan adds a language switcher so guests can choose between the three.

What if a guest's name is not found?+

They can try their other name, or fewer letters. If the guest is missing from your list, add them in the dashboard and they can be found on their next search.
